Re: TM Upgrade/Rebuild
Yes two. the one on the drivers side I use mostly for storage of things I don't use all the time..........tack strip, water claw, chems I don't use that much, and stuff like that.
I think the reason the shelf's rusted like that is because chems had leaked.

Re: TM Upgrade/Rebuild
There is nothing like surviving winter and entering Spring with a fresh charge to your batteries. Having a new rig or machine makes the first few months a lot of fun.
Re: TM Upgrade/Rebuild
If you are looking for some anti-vibration pads for mounting the machine....found these on ebay. Â Otherwise, use prothane body mounts, but I like these ebay pads.

Re: TM Upgrade/Rebuild
Looking good Dave, can't wait to see the front panel on it, it is going to look good.
I think I am going to do the same thing as you, with my PC L also. Powder coat and clean her all up when its time. She has really been doing good lately and I really think it is all I need.
When we pull her out We will redesign the blower hx system to make it better and she will have plenty of heat, other than heat she has been great.
Great job.

Re: TM Upgrade/Rebuild
Thanks.
Good idea doing a restoration to your PC L, it's a nice way to get some more miles out of an older TM like mine, I think. And a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new one too........plus I really like my /TM and know it like the back of my hand, and was the main reason I didn't want to replace it.
Would that little HX booster system you made work on a non HX machine like mine, Tom?.......to boost the heat after the LG heater?

Re: TM Upgrade/Rebuild
I installed a bit of Bling Bling today..lol I had my Kohler header "ceramic coated", to help retain heat and also make it rust resistant (the pitting/unevenness, real noticeable on the shorter pipe is due to corrosion from to being 'wrapped' for the last year).
I turns out this coating is 70% Aluminum, I was told, and that's what gives it that almost chrome like appearance........

Re: TM Upgrade/Rebuild
Cover the van in racing stickers....better yet, get some advertisers and wrap it like a Nascar racer.
Actually, that might not be such a bad idea...selling ad space on your vehicle. It could actually work.

Haha, DP just pointed that out to me also.
Not every old part can look like new.
Well I guess it could if I wanted to take it off again, but I don't

Re: TM Upgrade/Rebuild
Besides finishing up a couple small things I'm about done I think...
I added a bit more race car tech with the heat shielding on the hoses near where the exhaust exits.
Got all the plumbing done with new hoses, and it's been completely rewired. I also got the chem shelf back in van today.
The plan is to reinstall it back in the van tomorrow, and get back to work!!

Re: TM Upgrade/Rebuild
I bet you can't wait to clean with it.
What's funny is when you have a clean machine like that you notice the old parts like the black hydraulic hose on pic 2.
You did a dam good job on your refurbish Dave. I think the only part that isn't new or refurbished on you set up is the pump.
