for those who acid rinse, anyone tried the new Flex Ice?
Ive heard this stuff is awsome and its the first low pH powdered rinse I have ever seen.
supposedly cleans pretty well stand alone without needing a high pH.
anyone here tried it yet? I need to go down to interlink to grab some omni minis so Ill be grabbing a jug of it to try out.

Can't help on this one, my older butler can't use powdered products.

That's the reason I've never used an acid rinse, lack of cleaning power.........sometimes you need that alk. cleaning power for those areas that don't get per-sprayed, like under furn sometimes.
I'd be surprised to hear if this works well for cleaning while lowering
PH?

ya not sure, matrix all fiber cleans decently well but nothing like a high pH pre spray
so you guys using a high pH rinse, do you worry about leaving carpet starchy/ stiff or possible brown outs?
always been a worry of mine, not neutralizing the carpet
The only high pH rinse I have used is dry slurry, and that stuff really leaves carpet starchy feeling so had to x it out

I've been using S/O/E for rinse the last 8 months or so.
I also run a water softener, so that helps

I have never run into browning and I rarely use a rinse of any kind outside of just softened water.
I've seen some really starchy carpet before, but that was more from a lack of sufficient jet flow than the rinsing agent.
Remember water is the universal solvent and if softened will be at a neutral ph. If you have an adequate flow rate, you will reduce the carpet to a neutral without an acid addition.
I do like a good acid rinse (All fiber / Last Step), but it isn't necessary to prevent those problems.

ya ive gone months without re upping the rinse on the trucks, its more of a preventative thing like if the customer loves resolve or oxyclean the matrix all fiber rinse is formulated to remove soap residue from carpet
We have soft water on tap here, occasionally well do a job with a big travel charge out in the sticks and you can notice the difference with the harder water.
When you get your new coil Davey or LG I would avoid the encap rinse, Ive heard its fine if done in perfect dilutions but when you add to the rinse bottle over time and the residual chem in the lines/coil then it builds up in the system.
I remember when Terje added quat a lot from judson to his rinse, turned all his lines to concrete.
